Beginning your journey with us at Banana Moon Edgbaston !

We love to hear from families looking to find a home away from home for their children. We have multiple ways parents can enquire from a dedicated enquiry section of this website and you can request a callback or send us an email. We will then drop you an email or give you a call to discuss your interest. From here we can book you in for a visit to our nursery. This really is an opportunity for you to see our lovely environment, meet our wonderful team and most importantly ask any questions you need to.

Once you have decided that you would like a place here with us, let us know and we will send over a 'Secure my place' form and the bank details to send your £50 non-re-fundable registration fee. Once signed up we will register you onto our online Blossom system and that is where your and your child's nursery journey begins. We always try to accommodate parents as soon as they need space. Some parents do this month in advance to secure the place as places are subject to availability. We do try to ensure we are as flexible as possible to meet the needs of our families.

We then proceed into booking settle sessions for your child to allow them to meet their key worker and become familiar with the nursery environment. We base the number of sessions on the needs of the child and usually find after the first couple they are ready to begin. The first settle lasts about 1 hour, and during this time we ask parents to stay, this allows your child's key worker to talk to you about your child, their needs, and routines. The second settle is then approximately 2 hours long and when we ask that the child comes in alone or will spend time in their room with the peers and key worker. We let them join in and play with whatever they like but will also have things they might like or be interested in to allow them to feel safe and comforted. This will then allow us to begin their regular sessions

We often get asked what a child will need to bring so here’s a quick checklist:

· Coat (weather appropriate)

· Lots of spare clothes (appropriate for the weather)

· Comforters

· Wellies

· Hat & Gloves

· Sunhat & Sun Cream

· Spare pants

· Spare socks!

We know it can take some children longer to settle than others, it can be completely normal. Most children often get upset when leaving their primary carers, but we give lots of cuddles, help distract the child, and let them know they are safe.

Each child is an individual and it is really important to remember that. They do things in their own time but we, as professionals, will always support them and give them comfort to guide them into their learning journey.

We always aim to create a home away from home feeling so we will always spend lots of time finding out about what your child enjoys to ensure they always feel comforted when coming into nursery. We always recommend parents to keep an eye on the Blossom app where we will send updates on how your child is doing, pictures during the settle, and then for any wow moments.

We look forward to hearing from you and welcoming you into our nursery family!
